XY-1A Borehole Hard Drilling Machine Introduction
XY-1A drilling rig is a hydraulic feed portable drilling rig with
150 meters drilling depth and 150mm hole diameter. This hydraulic
feeding system features high speed, high torque belt drive, and
integrated pump, making it suitable for engineering geological
exploration in industrial and civil buildings, railways,
hydropower, transportation, bridges, dam foundations, and other
construction projects.

Applications
XY-1A drilling rig is primarily used for geological general
investigation and exploration, road and tall building foundation
exploration, various holes in concrete structures, river levees,
earth temperature central air-conditioner systems, and similar
applications. The XY-1 Series are spindle core geotechnical
drilling rigs perfectly suited for borehole drilling in
geo-construction and geo-technical exploration drilling in projects
including civil building, railway construction, hydropower,
highway, bridge, and dam construction.
Well Construction Methods
The five main types of wells are digging, driving, drilling,
drilling and jetting (flushing). Most digging and drilling
equipment is available, though drilling is sometimes considered too
expensive, leading to built-in front holes. Modern wells are
typically lined with concrete tiles and feature large diameters,
providing substantial openings for aquifer access. This allows
water extraction from very fine materials such as sand, silt, or
clay.
Digging Wells: Shallow wells without continuous casing, making them susceptible
to pollution from nearby contamination sources.
Drive Wells: Constructed by driving small diameter pipes into shallow
water-bearing sand or gravel. These wells are relatively simple and
economical to build but can only access shallow water and are as
vulnerable to pollution as digging wells.
Boreholes: Created using large augers, typically reaching depths of about 50
to 70 feet. They are usually made in soft materials including sand,
silt, clay, and soft rock.
Drilled Wells: Constructed using percussive or rotary drilling machines, capable
of reaching depths exceeding 1000 feet. Wells penetrating less hard
and firm land require casing and screens to prevent sediment inflow
and potential well collapse.
Jet or Flushing Wells: Created by forcing high-pressure water into underground drilling.
This construction method is only suitable for soft soil
foundations.
